Why games
Insight distilled from Analysis: Minecraft.
- Gamify learning — efficiency; games require a pleasant UX.
- Video game as a platform — choosing the play style (personalization).
- Meaning emerges from context → Plato’s metaphysics:
- everything already exists;
- everything that already exists already exists in the metaphysical world;
- the formula exists before materialization — people discovered it; therefore the most perfect text/software already exists, it just needs to be discovered.
- Linguistics (meaning, semiotics) bottom-up: a social contract — use dictates the rule.
- Design: a base functionality + a mechanic that encourages curiosity + personalization through more functionality (like redstone in Minecraft).
